What Prokerala is genuinely better at

Breadth, by a distance. Twenty years of tools means the long tail exists: a muhurat finder, choghadiya and Rahu kalam for any city, KP horary, Lal Kitab, numerology, a Sade Sati report with dates, Tamil and Malayalam charts in their own conventions. If your question is "what is the choghadiya in Coimbatore on the 14th", Prokerala answers it and we do not.

Regional language depth. Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam are not translations bolted on; the Tamil jathaka kattam and the Malayalam panchangam follow those traditions' own layouts. Our Hindi, Marathi and Nepali sites are complete, but Tamil and Telugu are still on our list.

Printable, familiar output. A Prokerala chart looks like the one a family astrologer hands over. If you need something to show an elder, that matters.

Western charts. Prokerala does a tropical natal chart alongside the Vedic one. We are sidereal only, on purpose.

What Kundali AI is better at

The question after the chart. A chart is a table; the reason people want one is a question the table does not answer by itself. Kundali AI reads the chart into the conversation, so "why is my 7th lord in the 12th a problem for marriage timing?" gets an answer that quotes your placements, not a paragraph written for everyone with that lord.

Chart-grounded, and checkable. Both sites compute rather than guess, but only one publishes the check. Our ephemeris (VSOP87 and the Meeus lunar series, Lahiri ayanamsa) is compared against Drik Panchang on the accuracy page, with a live block you can compare with today's Prokerala panchang yourself. Prokerala does not state its ayanamsa or method; its numbers are well trusted from twenty years of use, and that is a fair basis too.

Daily content that is computed for your sign, not written for it. Our rashifal evaluates all nine transits from each Moon sign every morning and applies the classical gochara rules; the Sade Sati and dhaiya flags on each sign page come from Saturn's actual position, and the Saturn transit 2026 dates come from the same engine.

No ads. A reading is easier to think about without a banner between the chart and the dasha table.

Do they agree on the numbers?

They should, and for the same date, time and place they generally do to within a few arcminutes: both use the Lahiri ayanamsa by default (Prokerala does not say so, but its charts match Lahiri-based sources), and both use whole-sign houses in the Vedic chart. Differences you may see, and what they mean:

• A planet in a different sign. Almost always a boundary case: the planet sits within a degree of a sign cusp and the two sites differ by a few arcminutes. Check the degree, not the sign.
• A different ascendant. Usually the birth time or the timezone. We resolve the timezone from the birthplace's coordinates; if you typed a time that was already UTC-adjusted, the two will disagree by hours, and both are "right" for what they were given.
• Dasha dates a few days apart. Different rounding of the Moon's longitude at birth. A day either way is normal; a year is a data-entry problem.

The honest recommendation

Use both, in this order. Generate the chart on either site (they will match), read Prokerala's reference text for the placements you are curious about, and then bring the questions the reference text raised to the AI astrologer.
